Each year Canada gets thousands of new immigrants. The
government goal is to bring the equivalent to 1% of the population
(currently 30 million) every year.
Important: The current Immigration and Refugee
Protection Act (IRPA) indicates that an applicant must prove
their language proficiency at the time of submitting the application
for federal permant residence with an approved test (this
does not apply to the Quebec program).
The only tests approved by the Immigration department (CIC)
are the International English Language Testing System IELTS for English and the Test d'Evaluation
de Francais TEF
for French. These tests can be taken periodically throughout

Business Class - Self
Employed:
Must have the intention and capacity to create their own employment.
They must contribute to the cultural or sports life of the
country or could own and manage a farm. Examples of this class
include musicians, ballet dancers, artists, sports people,
etc. who have enough money to start their own business. This
business will help them develop professionally teaching for
instance, piano, ballet, martial arts, etc.
